Mathew Sansom is interested in refocusing attention away from external stimuli towards inwardly activated qualities. This involves listening to sounds and silences, their relationships, contexts and meanings in order to reflect on what they might reveal and say beyond themselves.

I caught up with him in Rotcher while he was working on the audio for his audio walk tour for the music festival. This will be taking place around his sculpture for the River Clone sculpture trail during the Huddersfield festival of contemporary music.
