I'm wondering if the HD slo mo effect was achieved by shooting at 50/60fps.
  • 123 1 year ago
For me it is much more. but maybe it it 60fps
  • Blink pro 1 year ago
Shot on a Phantom at 1000fps. A lot more that just 60fps.

I guess that makes sense. The Phantom eh? Kind of apt. Thanks for the insight. I see Tomas Mankovsky has added a bit more below as well. There's not many things more satisfying than a good idea well executed by a team all singing from the same hymn sheet. Kudos.

    Thanks for nice feedback guys!
So the front bit was shot on the 7D, some in 60fps.
The rest was shot on Phantom, flame thrower in 1000fps and fire extinguisher in 400fps.

"A couple years ago, it seemed everyone and their mother was shooting with a Phantom camera, capturing life’s minutiae in ultra slow-motion. While the results were often beautiful, without any genuine motivation, the practice felt empty. And so it passed"

Some say the world will end in fire,
    Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
    Is also great
    And would suffice.

Really awesome video. Even though very "little" actually happens in the video, I still find myself attached to the complexity of each shot making 3min and 19sec really fly by.

I would still love to know what shots where taken with the 7D (you mention a 7D assistant in the credits.)

Thanx and keep up the good work :)

    so cool
  •
  • Fantastic, the redneck flame-thrower/extinguisher duel, the baying hound, the blank stare of the observer in the pickup with his eventual momentary fire-sparked burst of emotion. The actors were perfect for the roles they were asked to play. Great stuff.
