Dejan Dikic was a secondary school teacher living in Niš when 1999 NATO air campaign was launched. He was
at home with his family during a cluster munition strike. A bomblet exploded near his doorstep, injuring Dikic’s
knee and damaging his house.

“The signature of the Convention on ClusterMunitions is an historic opportunity to prevent further damage to
people’s lives,” said Dikic during a press conference held in the framework of the Dublin Conference inMay 2008.
Dikic is a software engineer, a teacher and an active member of the Niš Civilian War Victims Association. He has been campaigning since the beginning of the Oslo process. He speaks Serbian and English.
