De Kruisberg is about Teun Rohof a field hockey player who was selected for the Dutch national field hockey team. 20 years ago his parents moved to the hilly south of the Netherlands. At te age of 14 he started playing at hockey club Maastricht. He used to bicycle from home to the club and back three times a week for a couple of years. The place where he lived could only be reached by going over de Kruisberg a hill between his home and the club and after each training or play he needed to climb that hill with a rising of 9%. This route is also part of the yearly bike event the Amstel Gold race for professional bike racers. He claims his drive was build during the years he played in Maastricht and had to go over that hill with his bike. This is a project by Nils Adriaans, Thomas Rijsman and Tom Poederbach. Produced by One Saturday Afternoon.
Clip was shot with 7D with exception of the match images that were shot with a preproduction model of Canon's XF305 video camera. Rigs used were Zacuto Cage and Vocas base and carrying handle. Miller sticks. Lenses 70-200 and 16-85. Audio was recorded separately on a Fostek field recorder.
