I built this housing out of:

-1 12" piece of 4" PVC pipe
-1 threaded end cap
-1 solid end cap with a 3" hole cut in it
-1 4" acrylic plastic disc
-2 7" pieces of rope attached as handles
-1 bottle of industrial strength marine sealant

My total cost was only $19!!!!

The camera I used was my old Panasonic PV-GS80. I wrapped it in a t shirt to provide padding, and had my fisheye lens on for a nice wide angle, but it was often too wide, so next time I will zoom in. My shots kinda suck because today was the first day I've ever filmed in the water. Next time I hope I will get some better results.

THIS HOUSING WAS NOT MY IDEA, I GOT THE IDEA FROM MIKE AT mikemoon.net/vlog/.

Thanks Mike!

skee, you should put something on the plastic window to make it repel water, like a little film of oil or something. then the water would roll right off.

bart has a good idea there...You going to want to find spray on water retardant, if they make it...

the only problem is whether or not it would be as clear..?

i found out how to keep the water from sticking to the clear plastic end piece. car wax! you put it on, let it dry, the buff it off and the water slides right off!

idk if that will work...since car wax isn't actually clear...try rain-ex that shit they sell at like Kragens and stuff for windshields

that was fucking boring. you should get some cool audio in there, the stock audio is shit; It's from the inside of a sealed box. just a suggestion.

    Cool idea though.
