Volunteers from AmeriCorps/VISTA and around Iowa City, Iowa, have been working to remove sandbags in the Iowa City area for the last three weeks. The work will continue for the next five weeks or so, until an estimated 1 million sandbags are removed. Video shot on Saturday, July 19, 2008 by GazetteOnline's Jim Slosiarek.
