This 31 minutes blender tutorial will show you the steps to texture a head using the new GLSL preview features of the Apricot blender versions.
We will see how to interactively blend together 3 projections of reference photographies into a final texture.
This assumes you already are comfortable with blender, mostly in UV mapping, material and textures.
Hoping this can help you or simply demonstrate how powerful blender can be !

I can view it on vimeo, but the download feature at the lower right hand of your vimeo page contains a download button that allows a viewer to download the origional avi for home viewing at a higher resolution. The only player I can find that will play this video with sound (vlc wont) is MPLAYER, but even it bails out on me at about the 16 minute mark. This may be because of my slow cpu, but I have a gig of ram. Is it possible you could reload it as a more compatible format?

Maybe the AVI on vimeo was re-encoded by vimeo ?

you could try the different versions here :

the AVI is Xvid and should work on most players. The ogg should too.

All I can tell you is that the vimeo version does not work. However, the bentha avi version worked perfectly. Thank you. This is a great tutorial. I'm assuming all this will work in blender 2.46?

yes, you need 2.46, apricot branch, some binaries are available from graphicall.org

Hi again. Okay, I went to graphicall.org as you suggested. Over my head I'm afraid. I really didn't know what to do once I got there. I have a bit of experience with Blender, but I'm no programmer. You know, there are thousands others like me who will never go past this certain level unless someone leads us. Sounds like a sure tutorial to me. Would you be so kind?

john, you could try graphicall.org/builds/builds/showbuild.php?action=show&id=681 , or graphicall.org/builds/builds/showbuild.php?action=show&id=678, these are Mac versions of blender apricot. No need to compile, all you have to do is "downlaod build" and install. I can't help you with Mac install, though...
