    Well it’s sort of… isn’t it?

You really must stop poking your camera in other peoples windows, it’s not nice is it. You must allow people their privacy and dignity.

It looks like someone has lost their cherry in that bath, and I wonder if her left foot knows what her right foot is doing?

A very untidy couple. Next time try poking your camera into one of the ‘posh’ house windows, like I do with my binoculars, oops!

The moral of this video is surely, if you live in a shop window, don’t lose your head,

Ok. So it’s art, kind of reminds me of the early sixties, darn it! Now I’ve given my age away.

Psst, want to know something? I love this video, I like the soft framing and the momentary breaks, personalising a work of art that is on public display, almost a signature. The soundtrack fits the video perfectly too.

    Thanks for sharing Maria.

hey Mo thanx for stopping by. It is Housing Works Thrift shop - there are numerous in the city - these shots were of a window of the one on 23rd/East

(the thrift shops raise money for the Housing Works non profit org for HIV/AIDS & Homelessness)

    happy times?

Okay I love chet, but the dismembered lovers?
  • MariaNYC 1 month ago
dismembered ? lol I like to think they lost their heads, having fun ... you're so serious lol.
  • Alex Itin 1 month ago
Lost their heads... That's a nicer way to look at it true.
I think I was getting a Man Ray vibe off it at first.
  • MariaNYC 1 month ago
Oh wait Man Ray, wasn't there some incident with him and a mannequin once? I think it involved theft.... or something odd....

'Let's get lost': lost something Maria? Were you in search of some heads?
  • MariaNYC 1 month ago
not at all, I'd say I found a little treasure when I came across this window.

Oooo very sexy ;) very easy to get lost in :D

  • You really have the knack of spotting 'it'. Powerful discovery shots. I couldn't quite make out the three small objects on the exercise scale before the camera tracks in on the feet. One looks like an elephant shape. Or am I getting 'lost' ?
  •
  • MariaNYC 1 month ago
hehehe thanks Patrick. No -you did not get lost lol you may be the only one that found them. They are all baby elephants, - completely drenched in FX- sitting on the the exercise machine. I believe there are ski boots there as well. My guess is that they decided to skip the exercise - or go for the "other" physical activity to burn off that romantic dinner. Thanks for stopping by - glad you enjoyed.

Gorgeous choice of subject, well captured and photographed. Superb musical choice too. The sound/image pairing reminded me a bit of the final music cue in the horror flick, "Jeepers Creepers" (if you've seen it you know what I mean, if not, don't bother). The only thing I'd have liked better is if the headless aspect had been hidden somewhat until later in the work, and similarly, the choice of early shots kind of tells you right away where you are (Outside, on the street, looking in a store window). Later shots in the work obscure the location a little bit and I prefer a little more mystery (the still preview image hides the subject very well, even with what it shows). Referring again to later shots, I get very intimate with the set, something I'm not able to do in the early shots, because I'm so aware of the glass between me and the objects being photographed. If I became aware of the glass later, I'd more likely experience a pang of unfairness or surprise at how different the thing is than I originally imagined.

    Just some thoughts.

Never saw the movie but Lenny I just so love your feedback- this is really a great observation and your perception is so on the money.

Do you know that is how I had the original edit (I made a version for my 76th bottle collab on icomps). The headless beings were revealed much later and even then it worked better -I think in the context of the song here it would work out better as well.

I thank you for pointing this out your feedback is spot on - not sure why I reversed things here but I'm going back- a reedit of the reedit is definitely in order! LOL
