Alors là, c’est carrément tout bon à voir ! De magnifiques timelapses tournés au Canon EOS 7D !

pixi-motion.com/2010/08/13/daniel-dragon-films-eye-of-the-beholder/

Opening shot is macro video shot done with Opteka extension tubes and a Canon 50mm EF f/1.8 lens.

All other shots are still photo, time-lapse with a Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 lens.

This was my last film before getting Adobe AfterEffects/CS5, which has really raised the quality of my output in post.

Hello Daniel. Beautiful video. Sharp shots in beautiful timelapses. Only the video runs not very smoothly(maybe only by me ?).
  • I think Vimeo fixed it, it behaves normally now for me.
  • Ben 1 year ago
    Yes it's much better!.
  •
  • absolutely gorgeous - amazing low light shots and color...runs fine for me...
  • Thanks for the compliments! If any of you have not seen Victoria's artwork or her films, you're missing out.

love the night-time light house shots!
  • Thanks, Nic. As far as I know, I'm the first person to time-lapse a lighthouse in operation.

Tremendous work here my friend. So many sequences to like!
  • Andy, if I were you, I'd time-lapse that new baby growing. Same background, kid grows. How cool would that be? Thanks for the compliments.

Great video Daniel! Lots of beautiful shots in hear!
  • Thanks, Brad. I drew inspiration from "Hayaku" in places.. like the ships going by.
  •
  • Brilliant work , crisp and clear , the music compliments the film too.
  • Thanks, Simon. I got permission from the artist to use any of his music, but I had to find and mix the sound myself, so I appreciate that.
  •
  • An excellent job , thanks for sharing it with us.

Daniel, you're doing some amazing stuff now. Love the amusement park shots at night. Totally cool. I haven't seen it done even close to that well before. Keep it up!
  • Thanks, Jacob, I really enjoy doing this kind of thing.

Nice work! I like it. Love the lighthouse shot! Has such a nice mood to it. Thanks for sharing.
  • Thanks, Simon. It hasn't gotten as much attention as I'd hoped. I'm planning to go to the mountains to get more elevated/foggy type footage.

Very nicely shot. What equipment are you using to get your camera moves?
  • Chip, the panning/zooming is all done in post with Pinnacle 14. I now have a motion control dolly from dynamicperception.com

Hi, Daniel! I've seen this beautiful timelapse earlier. Added to Timelapse and Slowmotion Theater! And added to my new channel HD Time!
    Greetings,
    Ben
  • Okay, I didn't see it in the collections for the video, it's been awhile, so I couldn't remember. Thanks for adding it to your new channel.

I'm getting re-motivated to go back out and shoot after taking a break for a few months. Trying to do new/different/better, as always.

No I didn't mean that I've seen it earlier in Timelapse and slowmotion theater! So I added it now to this channel too! Good luck with making video's!

    Great! Love the lighthouse shot
  • Thanks, Mikel! I'm going to have to revisit those lighthouses before too long. They're about 4.5 hours drive from here I live, and it's very dark at night there (good for stars).

I'm still pretty noobish in the photography world, but this kind of stuff fascinates the hell out of me. The one thing that still boggles my mind is the foreground/object lighting without completely blowing out the rest of the picture or the object. for example the light house, the expose of the house is perfect as well as the stars in the back ground, How did you achieve this? shorter exposure times?
  • Daniel Dragon Films plus 2 months ago
Christopher, there is no magic here.. the shots of the lighthouse are 30 second exposures at f/2.8. The very last shot is actually the first time I ever tried to shoot a working lighthouse & stars together.

If you haven't seen my newer piece from the Outer Banks, it builds heavily on the lighthouse/stars theme vimeo.com/25023898
