Ruantallain Lodge sits behind the tidal shoreline on the eastern coastal fringe of a large sporting estate on Scotland's most desolate inhabited island.
It was the chosen homestead for an annual New Year gathering of friends, and proceeded in the time-honoured fashion of outdoor manoeuvres, Hogmanay carousing and ne'er day swimming....until cruel misfortune struck.
