This is my way to narrate Tim Burton's "Staring Girl". It is one of his short stories from the book “The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories” (1997).

------------------------------------

Italian text:

"La Bambina che Fissava"

Una volta conobbi una bambina
che se ne stava impalata
a fissare tutto e tutti
e nient'altro la impressionava.

Fissava la terra.

Fissava il cielo.

Ti fissava per ore
e non sapevi perchè.

Ma dopo aver vinto
una gara locale per gente
che fissava tal quale

offrì ai suoi occhi
vacanze e balocchi.

This is great Bro.! I love TIM BURTON work. and this is a good adaptation. the sound is good too, maybe a little equalization, sometimes they kind get alittle loud. And the animation, trie to use the animation curves for better control.

    cheers

Bravissimo, il video è bellissimo è mi piace come hai riarrangiato il brano. Grande!
  • sogni birchofiani 1 year ago
Grazie Dario.

    Visually and aurally diverting.....

However, For me I am not sure that the 'handheld' principal shot was necessary.....I felt that it did not serve the 'narrative'.
  • sogni birchofiani 1 year ago
Yes, maybe. The fact is that I wanted to test After Effect's 'tracking' tool adding a story (not just a common no-sense test). In fact, when I tested my new Canon, lens and mic, I created a short and simple simple simple story:

Concetto molto originale. Bella realizzazione del tutto. Anche la musica e molto convincente. Forse se la camera fosse stata fissa avrebbe dato un tocco di perfezione, visto che c'e gia tutto il movimento necessario nel quadro.

That's great!!!!! I love it. Tim Burtons stuff is so simple yet so engaging. He has such a finger print on all his work, you instantly know it's Burton, from the type of story to the feel and design of it. Sogni, you did a great job with that. Nice one. And thanks for your comments about my work too!

    Cheers

    Trev.

Pretty cool story, nice work man. One critique I have is with the hand held movement. It was too much and took away from the story because the audience was basically floating side to side the whole time. It was a bit disorienting. Other than that, very good job!

Ps. Is that the harry potter theme? I love HP

  • sogni birchofiani 6 months ago
Thanks for your comment. You're right Hassan: there's too much movement. My first idea was to make just a test of After Effect's Tracking tool, but then I create this.
