RADIO BRAVO is set within the matrix of the Texas-Mexican border featuring its dangerous promises of love, luck, sex, music, and murder. Based on true stories and events from the past and the present, RADIO BRAVO is conceived as a weekly cable series. Acting as an eyewitness, the series is based on the horrendous drug war violence occurring along the border today that is rivaled only by the gangland slayings of the 1930’s probation era. As an added twist, the RADIO BRAVO script borrows its inspiration from the brilliant history of border radio, which broadcast norteña and cumbia bands, country-and-western music, rock-and-roll, and an assortment of quirky fare such as: politicians (like the late LBJ), faith healers, religious zealots, and quack doctors. RADIO BRAVO is a SOUNDTRACK of the present and the past featuring music from “Country” to “Conjunto”, representing the lore of the sonic state of Texas and its Mexican border.
