Alan, a member of Spacecoast Paddlers guided us to Samsons Island, Brevard Co., FL. The put in for the paddle was at Oars and Paddles Park in Indian Harbour Beach. After launching, we paddled no. on the Banana river under the Mathers Bridge to the Grand Canal. We then cruised up the Canal to Samsons I. All the paddlers subsequently entered a mangove channel paddling until we reached a take out point. Lunch followed a short cleanup of the picnic area. A short hike to the high point on the Island preceded our put in for the return home. Paddling the Banana River so. on the way home enabled us to get some cooling breezes. This was my first paddle with SC Paddlers and it won't be my last.
