what type of lens did you use? i ordered a jog as well only problem was that mine was completely mangled and broken when i got it.. so now while I'm waiting for its return I'm checking out what lens' to buy

I used a cheap Sigma 50mm F2.8 - I think if you want to shoot indoors stuff you should try and find yourself a F1.8 or faster.

Yeah, mine turned up in not the best condition, dirty ground glass plate, finger prints on the anchormat and so on. Anyhow it was (comparatively) cheap and in the right circumstance looks very nice.

i got an arstat 50mm f1.4 lens .. do you think i will get similar results.. i like the colors in your other footage not so much the wobble n stuff but it looks nice

Who knows ! so many variables !! I expect the 1.4 to be a little better in low light.

The only thing I did was to zoom in as much as the HV20/30 would allow and still autofocus on the ground glass grain.

Not only a F/1.4 would be better indoor/low light situation but the narrower depth of field make it even sweeter.

there's one lens you'd love to get your hand on; Canon 50mm F/0.95, made for their rangefinder.
  • Tynan 1 year ago
I am guessing the 0.95 is super expensive ?

If I can get my hands on that Nikon to Pentax/M42 mount adaptor I will have to buy that F/1.4 off you.

you can easily find a screwmount 50mm F/1.4 lens for like, £30, even on ebay, or an 85mm F/1.8 etc. the M42 screwmount have the best range of lens out there, even a Carl Zeiss 20mm is possible.

M42 fitted a wider range of camera back then, you can probably find a cheap Russian 85mm F/1.5 lens for not a lots of buck.

Cheers for the info !! :)

And do you know anywhere I could find a Nikon mount to M42 adaptor ???

    ***EDIT***

I did the obvious and put Nikon to M42 into Google, so I will trawl through the results !!
