As tourists in Paris, we do all the things a million other people do. All the same, Paris rarely disappoints. This was a day at Notre Dame and strolling the streets shopping. This was shot on our still camera, so the camera work is occasionally rather suspect.

I did a flash encode for the original upload, and I believe when Vimeo re-encodes the file it introduced the artifact. It was originally a 320x240 file and potentially the pixels on the right were stretched during the re-encode. I have not seen it on any of my other files so I have not been able to find the source of the problem. Thanks for the heads up.

You should let the vimeo guys know about this. Ideally Vimeo shouldn't recode a clip that is already in flash.

I have watched all of the videos from your Paris trip and I must say, Rick Steves and the Travel Channel have nothing on you guys! Thank you for sharing these clips -- your commentary is both informative and funny. You should have your own show!

heh. The whole time during the Notre Dame part, I was thinking "wow...he sounds a lot like Rick Steves" :)

I don't know if I should be flattered or Rick should be horrified. :-) I have to believe his photographers would be appalled with the shaking camera. Really, these are a hoot to make. Thanks again for all the kind remarks.

I agree with Tallulah. I love how there's actual stories and information behind what you're videotaping rather than just shooting away at things; makes it more memorable I think. Certainly would help my parents when looking back at old videos of vacations. :) I chuckled at the Quasimodo joke.

Hi there, love this video, I went to paris a few years back and loved it. I just went to Amsterdam, Brussels, and Frankfurt earlier this year and loved every minute of it. I have several videos of Amsterdam and Brussels on my page, check it out.
