Grand Lake is Colorado's largest natural body of water. The footage is some of the first video I shot that inspired the idea for doing a video blog. As newbie footage goes this video is more shaky and crude. But it does what home movies do best and captures memories, in this case a boardwalk at sunset, ice cream, first time boat rides, and care free discoveries that are never on the clock.

An hour and a half from Denver, Grand Lake, is worth the trip, even with the orange pine beetle forest that surrounds it. The town, of the same name, on the lake is touristy but feels more genuine as a vacation destination for locals. Unlike the more bustling and out-of-state tourist feel of Estes Park, Grand Lake is quieter and sits on the western entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park.
