1. Better in Macro
A few macro shots of some spiders and a green bug. I wish I had a steadier hand, because I love macro, but everything comes out sooooo shaky.

Filmed with my Canon HG10 and Raynox DCR250 macro lens.

Music is from Gladiator soundtrack.

    Very Nice True Air

I really like that Raynox DCR250, keep making those bug and arachnid shots they're great.

Even with the shake, you're getting great shots. I've tried getting bees that are moving quickly between blossoms that are already swaying in the wind. You really can't use a tripod, since you have to keep moving to keep up with it. The shake is unavoidable, but you're keeping it under control well enough.

Cheers for the compliment, I suppose it is an unavoidable situation, especially when all creatures that small move unnaturally quick!

You had a good subject with the frog, though. He stood still for his close up!

It's challenging getting shots of most insects & animals you come across, but it's more rewarding than going to a zoo and taking shots of them there (better variety, though. Not many giraffes in my neighborhood).

Just yesterday morning, there were a couple of deer on my property. I have a quick shot of one turning to look right at me, then he's gone within seconds.

A while back, I stepped outside just in time to find a praying mantis perched on the wall of my building. I got a few stills (didn't have this camera then). Those guys don't get too spooked by you, but stills are practically all you need. They don't move much while being studied.

That poor frog probably had a heart attack after we were finished filming him... I was filming him, and my girlfriend and daughter were both photographing him, and my dog kept barking at him! It was the first one we have seen this year because I live in a small town, and wildlife is few and far between.

Would love to have the wildlife around me that you have described. We don't have praying mantis' in this country though.

Going to watch your video now, I see you have posted one since I last checked!
