A audiovisual response to the statements/views held towards modern dance music.
One Kick is produced using a single kick drum multi-layered, time stretched and looped to produce a phasing technique.
This is combined with the varying rhythms produces a strong contrast to the common held view of dance music being "boom boom boom" or fixed and unchanging.
The visualisation is generated and controlled by the audio with specific colours being linked to specific audio "tracks", this produces a phasing effect where the colours merge that mirrors the audio phase.
The piece draws on pioneering works from artists such as Steve Reich and Philip Glass.
