When I met Precious it was love at first sight. Even in the New York summer heat she was all over me. In the video I called her Lucy by mistake.
Here's what a volunteer wrote about her,
"Right after walking Precious, I made people in the shelter come into the hallway to look at us embrace. I mean, I CALLED people out--people I didn't even know-- from other rooms and begged them to come see. Sure enough, I tapped my chest, and up came Precious, gentle as a feather, holding onto me like a baby koala . I needed witnesses to convince me that it wasn't a dream!
Precious is one of those magical pitties who stares deep into your eyes, looking for reassurance--and, once she knows you are her friend, she can't possibly get close enough. She rests her chin flat against your chest, hooks her arms around you, and...hugs. Just gives an endless, profound, mystical hug that makes you feel better about your life and makes you glad you woke up this morning.
Precious was taken from an apartment as part of an eviction, and she was very likely loved as a pet, because she is housebroken and well fed. We also know that she lived with one other pittie and at least one cat, so it's safe to say that she's at least selectively dog and cat friendly, too. She performed well on her behavior tests, earning a solid "MILD"--further proof that she'd fit in well with all kinds of homes. Precious is in great need of a second chance at life, and she's competing against lots of other dogs, so please don't forget to meet her and consider her as your next forever companion. I think she's a doll and a half!"
