First Shots: Deer
I just got my new HV20 and went outside to film some deer that were around the house. It doesn't look as clear as other videos I've seen so if you have any advice, please share.
Recorded in TV mode 60 apature. If anyone knows how to get into 60i, tell me because I can't find it in the menu settings.

Eugenia Loli-Queru 2 months agoYou don't want 60i for Vimeo, as Vimeo doesn't support de-interlacing. You need 30p, the way you just exported. Vimeo re-encodes in low bitrate too, so don't expect great quality on the flash video. -
Whiskey 2 months agoWell the quality is about the same without Vimeo. How do I get to 30p on the camera? I couldn't find anything in the manual. -
Eugenia Loli-Queru 2 months agoYou need an HV30 to get 30p in the camera. The HV20 only does 60i and PF24. But you can get 30p the way you exported, by de-interlacing 60i. Quality is fine. 30p is not as smooth as 60i, this is normal, there are 30 fewer frames. You can't export 60i for the web either, because Flash doesn't de-interlace on the fly like TVs do. Also, you need a steadier hand to get a better quality, your video was moving a bit too much so that created all this bluriness.
