This was before I bought stop motion software, when I was recording each stop for 1 second of video. I'd collect it in 1 second live shots, and change the speed in FCP. It's a very primitive, yet effective animation technique.

Wreck and Salvage is a crew of 3 people. The song is an original from one of the crew, Adam Quirk, who now lives in Brooklyn.

That's quite an achievement, especially as you didn't have animation software.

This is cool! I used to make stop motion videos using the same technique as a kid. It was really challenging since I didn't have any sort of editing software whatsoever.

I made masterpieces like "cereal being eaten" and "shoes moving around".

I really like this song and the butter torso is a really neat idea!

Always loved The Value of Butter. Especial the value of that good Danish butter. Tastes different that Land o' Lakes.

That's what I'm thinking! I don't have any stop motion software. I guess I'm living in the dark ages :( I kind of like my methods, though.

    What song is this?

Wreck And Salvage, I have a project for you if you really like butter. Cover an entire city block in butter and call it a "block of butter". It's in my book of useless things I want to see or do before I die.

Adam Quirk wrote and recorded this song. He's W&S crew. I'm wondering what else is in this book you speak of.
  • victoria 3 years ago
I like it! Did he write it specifically for this?

I just might make a video of my idea book... even though it's pretty top-secret confidential private stuff.

He woke one morning and wrote it in a dreamy haze, recorded it later that day, shared it with me, and the animation came from it later. I'd been wanting to carve and animate a block of butter.

  • wreckandsalvage plus 3 years ago
If you find a woman who knows the value of butter, then it should be all you need.

  • wreckandsalvage plus 2 years ago
I think I just poured it into a bowl, let it congeal and buttered toast with it mostly.
