G. Wayne Clough is the 12th Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution. Previously, Clough was president of the Georgia Institute of Technology. He transformed the Atlanta-based university into one of the top public universities in the country. He is the only person appointed by the president to both the National Science Board and the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. Clough has spoken and written extensively about innovation, higher education policy, diversity, economic development and technology.
