MB Looks does take a long ass time to render. It has to apply the effect to every single frame!

    you sure need distributed computing

    Kstya, what is distributed computing?
  • kostya cok 1 month ago
distributed (or grid) computing is when several computers unite in one network, in your case to compute video encoding and effects

it was a Sony HDR-HC7, I've also been surprised about the clear and sharp image. I'll try the shoot again with a sony HVR-Z1 later on

the cats again... rendering seems not to be the best, have to figure this out some time, some interlacing and artifacts...

Great video with Beautiful imagery. I would maybe suggest you up the RAM to around 4 Gigs. I use an 2.6GHZ Dual Core with 4 Gigs of DDR2 800MHZ ram, 512MB video card, SATA HD and it took me about 15 minutes to render my 15 second clip. I am going to build a Quad core soon to help cope with the demands.

Thanks Matthew, im going to gear up the ram,. for future works im planning to do,.. i see the assasins creed review is great i like that game a lot, i play it on the ps3,.the effects you did are pretty cool stuff,.

    we see you around

good job, i like how it turned out.

rendering shouldn't take that long on an intel mac; are you editing using hdv? you might consider prores 422. render times are reduced (significantly) when using this codec, but files are much bigger. the link below is a workflow for 24p/prores 422. i rendered my last picture (http://vimeo.com/1407958) using mb looks in 35 minutes. btw, i use a macbook pro 2.2, 4gb ram.

Great look to the piece! You may want to open Activity Monitor (Utilities folder) next time you render just to see if it's rendering on one or both of the cores, if only one, then go into AECS3's preferences where you can set it to multi-processor rendering which will also speed things up.
  • Paco Gomez Vega 30 days ago
Thanks Gsmith for your comments and the advice i will try that the next time i render, i will let you know the results,.
    thanks..!

Hey, I loved this, great stuff! Quite a believable storyline, great acting, and the MBL colours, although perhaps just a little too strong, worked really well. Is there going to be any more to this story?

Oh and I'm in love with the 350Z :)

  • Paco Gomez Vega 30 days ago
Thanks Greg, is great having feedback from you, about the story we just made that up everything that day , that momment, cause it was my first day with the HV30 and i wanted to shoot anything, my brother came to my house to play some PS3 , he is the owner of the 350z, that you are right it really looks good on film,.!!! and instead of playing we got out and film this,. im working on my First real short film, im sure that it will have the same look, i let you know.....

Wow! sensacional. Que buen look, increible los preset de Magic Bullet, lo que son capaces de dar de sí. Me ha gustado mucho, Paco, pero... en cuanto a la historia me quedé con las ganas de seguir viendo más, jeje.
  • Paco Gomez Vega 30 days ago

Esta muy bonito...sorry my Espanol is limited. Great video though. No clue what your bro was saying but I made up a scenario in my head. I think thats a sign of a good video. The MBL really added to the video. I'm looking into acquiring it soon.
