The MTS Video and Sound crew spent the summer creating video podcasts. Students began by researching and creating a script for the audio portion of their podcasts. They then recorded their own voices using the MTS Digital Media Academy's sound studio. Students mastered Apple's Garage Band and were introduced to Pro Tools, the industry standard software for digital recording and production.
In the second portion of the program, students were introduced to the basics of camera operation and video editing. Students shot video and collected still images to pair with their audio. Students were required to demonstrate mastery of Final Cut Pro, the industry standard software for video editing.
By the end of the program, each student had a completed video podcast of two to four minutes. The podcasts resemble short informative documentaries comprised entirely of 'B-Roll" footage.
