In July 2010, Cyprus Well and CILIP South West hosted a free training event for library professionals to showcase the Man Booker Prize and why it is important to readers. The session looked at potential barriers to promoting the prize and offered ways to help libraries overcome them, as well as discussions about the prize, past winners and judges decisions...
Jonathan Douglas led the session. Jonathan is Director of the National Literacy Trust and is the library representative on the Man Booker Prize Advisory Committee.
Prior to joining the National Literacy Trust Jonathan was Head of Policy Development at the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council, where he also worked as Head of Learning and Access. Prior to that, he was professional adviser for youth and school libraries at the CILIP. Jonathan has also worked as a librarian and Children’s Services Team Leader in Westminster Libraries
