It’s always hard to enter adulthood, but today’s job market and the rising cost of college have made it particularly tough for young people. Many are postponing things like marriage, family, buying a house and finding a so-called ‘grownup’ job.
One couple, Andrea Lemhouse and Rob Schabel, actually met because the economy was bad. They both joined Americorps after college. But now they’re having trouble moving forward in their relationship, and their adulthoods, for the same reason. They represent many people in their 20s and early 30s in the U.S. today – eager to start their lives, but lacking the resources to do so.
