This particular piece is a memory of a life’s love relationships from youth to old age. I make video-art constructions by re-purposing, re-contextualizing, effecting and weaving appropriated found footage samples from disparate TV media sources into the dreams a Television Might have. The work represents television both as a medium, message, and as a device of conscious and subconscious cultural significance. Since 1980 I have re-purposed, re-contextualized, effected, and weaved appropriated media samples into video art. I am trained as a painter, with an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. My videos have enjoyed exhibitions and screenings at various cult venues, as well as the Hershhorn Museum of Art in Washington D.C., and both Lincoln Center and the Anthology Film Archive in N.Y. City. Most recently I have screened work at the Polish National Museum of Art in Szczecin Poland, the Busan International Film Festival at Bandee in Busan Korea, as well as a international exhibition of video art traveling throughout Portugal.
