Steven proposes to Brooke during a summer celebration at Ashley Park in Newnan, Ga. Ashley Park is a mixed-use development of Thomas Enterprises, Inc., the company for which Steven works. There were live bands, kiddy rides, etc., much like a county fair. Steven wrote a song especially for the occasion. Having been writing and performing his own music for some time at coffee houses and open mic events, he told Brooke he had been asked by the coordinators of the summer celebration to sing a couple of songs between bands.
