It was a beautiful day and Malena wanted to go outside in the backyard to do a little painting. She brought out her watercolor set and I brought out my camera. Voila! New video.

The footage was shot using a Canon HV30 with a Letus 35mm adapter and Nikon 50mm lens. Editing was done in Adobe Premiere.

Is this your first video with the letus35? I love the music and she is adorable as usual. Very short and sweet. My wife instantly claims this one to be her favorite of your work. Thanks for sharing.
  • Clan McCloud plus 1 year ago
Yeah, this is the first footage I shot using the Letus35. I recently upgraded from my TwoNeil.

That's so great that you share my videos with your wife. I do the same thing with all your videos! Both of us agree that "clocks" is still our personal fav.

i'm relatively new to advanced filming... it so often comes up with this letus adapter thing - what does this do? the pictures look so great - but what's the deal?
  • Clan McCloud plus 1 year ago
For starters, I'm a far cry from "advanced filming" so I may not not be the best person to be doling out information. :-P But essentially, the Letus adapter (or any other 35mm adapter for that matter) allows you to attach SLR lenses to your camcorder to achieve a shallow depth of field and a more "film like" look and feel. For a better explaination and examples, check out this video: vimeo.com/1114483

This should have been longer. I enjoyed it a lot.

Why do Asians always make the 'V' sign? :) Is it genetic? :D

...or am I just being overly analytic? :P
  • Clan McCloud plus 1 year ago
Hahaha!! I have no idea! I thought that it was so funny when she busted that out. I HAD to put it in the video. I didn't even ask her to do it. When I asked her why she did, she said she was copying her uncle, Hiroki. He's from Japan and recently visited and stayed with us for a month.

You got a Letus!! Sweet. Great moments to capture
  • Clan McCloud plus 1 year ago
I totally did! And I'm stoked. The only problem is that it's darn near impossible to get a sharp focus using that teeny tiny flip-out display.

ikan v7000 is the answer :)
    I got one.
  • Clan McCloud plus 1 year ago
thanks for the tip, kruzer! I'll definitely look into it.

Amazing McCloud! It looks like your new Letus35 is working out beautifully. Great music and a wonderful actress. I look forward to seeing more of the Letus brotha and I can't wait to get a 35 adapter for my SR-11.
  • Clan McCloud plus 1 year ago
Thanks, Trav. So far so good. Now let's see about getting you an adapter of your own.

Clan, You won't stop surprising me, aren't You.
    Beautifull, just Beautifull.
Now I will stay silent and watch it again.

Thanks so much, Viperos. The crazy thing is after I finish one I have no idea what I'm going to do next. But Malena seems to be an endless supply of inspiration.

Thanks, Al! Yeah, I'm notorious for keeping things really short. :-P My family always complains about the length of my videos. Personally, I'm a fan of short and sweet.

  • Clan McCloud plus 1 year ago
I've only used the Letus so I can't really comment on the Brevis. But I can tell you that I love the Letus. Quick set up and great results.
