See all Show me
You need red/cyan anaglyph glasses to see this properly. This is the winner of "Best Animation" from the Star Wars Fan Film Movie Challenge, sponsored by Lucasfilm. I am presenting it here in stereoscopic 3D. It was shown at Celebration V in Orlando Florida in circular polarized 3D.

I am the director, co-writer and stereoscopic supervisor. It was produced as a student film by the June 2010 class at the DAVE school at Universal Studios in Orlando Florida. For more information about the DAVE school see, daveschool.com

Sick! I like the new explosion and the reflection passes on the floor, too bad my radar ultimately landed on the cutting room floor, but the flow is def better without it.

Really great Job Daniel, you and your fellow students should be proud! I liked how you chose to simplify things like hair and facial expressions so that you spent more time on story telling and less time troubleshooting. I think it was a really smart move to go stylized. If you are ever going to go back and tweak I noticed several instances of depth errors where space junk is floating behind (although in the picture it is in front of) other junk creating sinking effects. They are very minor though and I think your choices to use mostly the stereo space behind the screen is a good one. Congrats guys!

Excellent! So nice to see effort put into story, editing and music editing rather than trying to make it look "realistic". Han's voice was perfect! The stylization was great, the action was snappy and clear and easy to follow, camera work was smooth and unobtrusive (and I say this as someone who's created a lot of SW cinematics for games). I don't think it needed to be in stereo 3D, but whatever! Nice job!

This is pretty epic. A non-3D version would be cool too, not everyone has the glasses/even likes it.

This is astonishingly good -- character, adventure, humor, and then the technical achievement. I'm glad I have 3D glasses at home (procured to see astronomy pics, but what a terrific alternate use :)

Wow. You guys really captured Harrison Ford's mannerism to a T!

For the record, I would DEFINITELY watch a show based on Han & Chewie's adventures.

    GET ON IT!

Simply amazing! What an excellent video -- I wish I had some 3d glasses to view in its full glory. You guys really did a great job on this, even finding a voiceover actor who sounds somewhat like Harrison Ford. Tying it into Star Wars IV was a nice touch too. We finally got to see what Jabba was so upset about. (Bonus points for carbon freezing Jar-Jar Binks).
