…Enter the Dark, ladies and gentlemen, is what independent film making is all about. The suspense was built up so finely that it almost started making me have a claustrophobic reaction in my room. - HORROR SOCIETY

Miro's story works like a good horror tale should, suckering us in with one hand while it's preparing to pop up and scare us with the other. There's a command here that can't be taught, and Miro shows a natural gift for creating tension. - FROM MIDNIGHT WITH LOVE

...a sonic achievement of style and horror, but in a very psychological way. - SCARY FILM

...effectively creepy with an atmosphere that kept me looking over my shoulder constantly. - ALL THINGS HORROR

...an effective, psychologically thrilling chiller ... involving, slick and suspenseful. - THE INDEPENDENT CRITIC

Fans of Paranormal Activity will be happy to discover this spooky short! - I LIKE HORROR MOVIES

...........................................................

With the lights out, two friends are led on an adventure of paranormal encounters: cold spots, an eerie talking children's book, unexplained apparitions and a final mystery that leads to an unforgettably disturbing ending.

Hey Todd, congrats to you for making a really good film! I liked it and (watching it in a dark room with headphones loud) jumped a few times off my chair ;-)
I can imagine how difficult it was to create this tension (even if if mostly happens in the viewers head, but you need the right triggers) and I am curious about trying it myself.
Unless a load of non-high-budget productions yours didn't lack of sound quality. I was excited about the clear dialogs and sounds. Can you talk a bit more about your lev/h4 setup and where you used to place the mics?
    Cheers

Dorian - thanks so much for the kind words. Yes, audio was definitely a point of focus for me - it often is overlooked and bad audio is oftentimes what makes a film feel "low-budget". Since I knew I would be shooting in the dark and in tight areas, I decided to use wireless lav mics that fed into the Zoom H4n. I also doubled my audio by having the "prop" H4n that you see in the film record audio as well as a backup. You can read more about my production experience on my blog:

    Thanks!
