This is a test for some motion portraits. Shot on a 7d with Ziess 85mm and 50mm lenses and a Zacuto shoulder mount.

What I have learnt.

Focussing is hard at f1.4

Front heavy stabilisers are shaky at 85mm

Good models make my stuff look better :-)

    This is a beautiful look.
How did you do it, soft box?

Hi, it's all natural light through a large bay window covered with net curtain. Small adjustments were made with colour, brightness and contrast in the grading.

hey this is great work. how do you find the ziess 85mm? i've been looking at getting one. do you use a follow focus with it?

Hi, thanks. The 85mm was very hard to keep in focus. A follow focus is essential. It worked out okay for this clip as the model is not moving back and forth too much, but for the other clips I don't think it would have worked too well.
