In July of 2010 Freddie Gibbs hit the Windy City as a headliner of this year’s edition of the Pitchfork Music Festival. Closing down the Balance Stage, Gibbs performed in front of 30,000 people as he brought the gritty streets of Gary, Indiana to Chicago’s Union Park. Before his Pitchfork performance, Freddie Gibbs hosted RubyHornet’s monthly Digital Freshness party at Beauty and hit SoundScape Studio for the second edition of the LRG and Closed Sessions collaborative project. Freddie Gibbs decided to work with up and comer YP and after a few beats and blunts, “Something New” was born featuring the smooth production of Chicago's Million $ Mano.

Check out this documentary to see how the session went down and look for the new track, "Something New" available for free download 8/25/10 via ClosedSessions.com/LRG.
