French fashion house Chanel has long been known for producing some of the olfactory world's most elegant fragrances.

The latest offering from the century-old house "Bleu de Chanel" is an understated, masculine scent created over a period of four years by Chanel's "Master Nose" Jacques Polge alongside British nose Christopher Sheldrake.

Here, Polge talks us through the process by which he came to make Chanel's latest fragrance, and just what it is that sets it out from the crowd.
