A huge thanks to Will Stacy for letting us use this video to design to.
This is my entry into the Dynamic Interference Sound Design Challenge for August 2010. This is my first attempt at anything involving explosions, and it was a lot more hectic than I'd anticipated -- probably due to the constraint of not being able to pitch-shift or time-stretch anything over and over again.
I spent most of my time designing a synth sound that I used for the bulk of my explosions, which may have been against the spirit of the challenge since my explosions were all within a clump of 5 semitones and that may count as pitch-shifting, though no actual explosion sounds were even reused, let alone pitch-shifted and time-stretched.
Cakewalk Sonar Home Studio 7
Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10.0
Native Instruments Massive, Battery, and Kontakt for the synth sound.
