This week’s “Crime of the Week” concerns a Theft on the north side of Columbus.
On Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at 4:41pm, one female suspect and two male suspects entered the Rooms for Less furniture store located at 1345 Morse Rd. in north Columbus. One of the men and the female interacted with sales people while the second male suspect walked away. Store security video recorded the man as he made his way toward an unattended customer service counter. The man leaned over the counter and observed an employee’s purse unattended on a two drawer file cabinet. The suspect walked to the employee side of the counter, rummaged through the purse, taking a wallet. The suspect exited the store. Misuse of a credit card from the wallet began soon after. The suspects are described as: 1) Female/White, late 30’s, 5’9”, 200lbs, long blond hair, white button-up sweater, white tank top, white Capri pants. 2) Male/Black, 50’s, 5’6”, medium complexion, beige hat w/dark bill, light colored shirt w/dark print design, green pants. 3) Male/Black, late 40’s, 5’8”, dark complexion, short cut hair, dark pull-over shirt, dark pants.
Crime Stoppers has posted a reward of up to $2,000.00 for any information received by September 1, 2010, leading to the arrest and/or indictment of the persons responsible for this crime. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS (8477) or go to our website at stopcrime.org and e-mail your tip. You can text a tip to “CRIMES” 274637, key word CMH.
Crime Stoppers does not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. A special coding system protects the identity of the caller.
