Today Zach and I had to go uptown to IAC headquarters for a meeting with our boss, Michael Jackson, and his boss, Barry Diller. Here is some footage leading up to that, including a pre-meeting to figure out what we were going to say.

What's funny is the meeting ended up being about 4 minutes long, and our preparation, broad buckets and all, was solely for our comfort.

We can't tell you the TV show but you'll find out in April.

Edited in Quicktime Pro.

yeah, what were you talking about, Zach?
  • Zach Klein staff 2 years ago
When Mo said 'buckets', I started to think about the song "There's a hole in my bucket, dear Liza dear Liza ..."

I was more interested in getting on with the notes.

Does Mo often restate what MJ says? That would be great TV.

Another brilliant example of a clip on Vimeo bringing reality to something the entertainment industry has turned into a fantasy.

This is what meetings are like. Very different from what you see in TV shows and movies.

    true.

Except most meetings are more boring because Jakob isn't there to call the BS!

ohhhh man he made me nervous when he was pacing!
  • Andrea Allen staff 2 years ago
I really like pacing. In our college newspaper office there was a pogo stick that I would jump around on as well.
  • Jakob Lodwick 2 years ago
MJ is the world's #1 pace artist.

I'd have pulled out the N-Strike Maverick for some some practice. Bing! Reverses direction. Bing! Reverses direction. Bing!

    I think pacing is healthy.

Fuzzy Dumpling sounds like something you order at Wo Hop in Chinatown.

I think they wanted you to present a brief discourse on the "why" first and then the targeted improvement. Interviewers should never have to ask "Why? or "How did that make you feel?" or "What is the right way to go?" Politicians, lawyers and celebs are skilled at this. Presenters have answers. Presenters are confident. Attack with the why! Attack!!!

E.g. We noticed the core vimeo user group is a bunch of video fanatics, so we're widening the appeal of the site to beginner videographers. Like gossipy housewives who spy on their neighbors with digicams all day long.

I'm new to the boat... but I must say, this meeting is too awesome compared to ones I had at past jobs.

Except of course, for the job I have now... the meetings here are fun. Then again... how much fun could a meeting be.

i love how zach seems like he's reading reading his oral presentation for a 8th grade english class.

This wasn't the actual presentation -- we were reviewing notes before walked into the big wood-paneled conference room!

Actually, the new home page is probably the main reason signups have increased, so please don't joke.

Dude, I am so tired of business buckets. I have moved to bins. No wait, I am tired of dude, too. Guess I am just tired. Love that you hammered it together in QT Pro.
