See all Show me
I was in this room at folk fest working on my computer when all these musicians started coming in and out of the room jamming then leaving then jamming more. I had my camera with me so i started filming. The sound quality turned out unusable so i thought i'd make my own song up and instead of highlighting the music, i would focus on the way people groove while making music and the energy that comes from a jam session.
Camera: Panasonic HVX200 with letus extreme
Lens: Nikon 50mm
Music: Jordan Clarke - Jungle Jam

That's too bad that the original music didn't turn out. That would have been great to hear. Your music works pretty well here, though.

  • i swear i saw the Dude in the beginning there. that must have been a wall of sound, did it synch well?

    well done, again!

how much light loss is there on the letus? it seems to perform well indoors.

is it hard riding the focus on the nikon?

Jordan again nice work. Thought the music fit in really nicely. And I know how bad the audio track can sound. And the editing of the piece was really thought out. Again nice job..

Really good effort. And I like your idea of putting in your own music and going for the emotions of the musicians rather than the original music itself.

The editing, colors, etc. are all awesome... I'm undecided on the music and whether it works or not (which leads me to believe it doesn't?). But it's really close to working... I dunno... I think I expected more "twang" for the music since the instruments were all like banjo, slide guitar, acoustic, etc. and the soundtrack sounded too "rock". Still a great video, I just think the music could match a little bit better... or perhaps rather than "twang" it could be something a little more esoteric/atmospheric to lock the person into the groove/energy that these people were developing during their jam (as you pointed out in the intro)? Just some thoughts, still a great video though.

  • i think the music was a great move - you had just the right amount of overlap with what we were imagining as we watched it. keep rockin dat shat.

are you adjusting any of this focus at the editing stage?

Your music selection was a fantastic contrast to the somewhat "typical" expectations given from the instruments in frame. All in all music is what makes your feet move and your head bop, and if anything this is a fantastic representation of just that. You can see someone enjoying the music but in the end it sure doesn't matter what it is they're listening to, if you see they're having a great time. That "genre" that "style" could be anything.
