1883, New York City, Wall Street—an odd baby was
born to a wealthy tycoon, who paid a large sum of
money not to be named, and his wife Ann.

The baby had a thick mustache and thick eyebrows.
The tycoon and his wife tried shaving their baby.
But the hair grew back, thicker. They shaved the
baby again. Same result. Again. And again. No good.
The only option was to give the baby up for adoption.

A young married couple, who could not conceive,
adopted this strange child and named him
John Hollywood.

John Hollywood grew up in the film industry
because his new parents were actors.
John Hollywood became a well respected actor,
writer, director, producer, and even musician.
He was so respected people began calling him Mr. Hollywood

Mr. Hollywood took his production company,
complete with crew, actors, cameras, lights,
carpenters, lumber, sack lunches, and bags of money
to Los Angeles, CA where they would shoot a feature film!
They were headed for the downtown area, but got lost
somewhere in the hills. But they had sack lunches and
decided to make their movie in this unknown area.
Mr. Hollywood fell in love so much with the hills that he
used his bags of money to buy the surrounding area.
This town, he decided, would be the biggest film empire
in the world! And he christened it Hollywood!

He had his carpenters build him a sign in the hills that said HOLLYWOOD
And the rest is history...

Important studios moved here as did big stars,
hot-shot screenwriters and directors.
Yet Mr. Hollywood remains the biggest icon
in all of Hollywood, as he never seems to age
and his facial hair never thins.
