During the summer of 2010, at Iregular, we build this Multitouch table using FTIR technology to prototype and test our interactive content made with Unity 3D.

Unity3D was the most appealing platform for the stuff we wanted to create. The catch was that there was not a good framework we could use for multitouch and Unity3D...

So we built our own Multitouch Unity3D framework and this video is the first demo of it.

With this framework done the sky is the limit on what we can do. Stay tuned for that at thisisiregular.com.

We did have a look at uniTUIO, but ended up making our own framework. One of the main reasons for it was that uniTUIO is designed in essence to replicate the way you would make an iPhone or iPad multitouch application with Unity3D and so has this game oriented feel to it. We felt that an approach more geared towards larger surface and interaction content would work better for what we wanted to do.
