Bokeh
Everyone has experienced fireworks. It is truly a magical sight. I set out to capture them, not as we know them normally, but in a way that many of you may not have seen them before. For this, I used Bokeh, which originates from the Japanese word "boke", which means "blur" or "haze".

Back when I first got my G9, I must of been 15 at the time.
I feel like dissing this video time over time.
Sorry... I guess I just have to keep it in me.
Also: To me Oval Bokeh is Ugleh... Hah.
I'm only 18 w00h!
Had my 7D for 8 Months and 4 Days.
I wanted to get a 5D mkII way before PBloom even started because I wanted a DSLR and a Camcorder for the longest time and I had some serious savings working for years as a kid.
I always take action too late.
At least I learned that lesson early on :]
Dangit, now I think back to when I shot Bokeh Fireworks with my G9 and at Sea World... Dangit I could of edited and uploaded it half a year ago. DASDJSA_OJD _(JR@# R
Keep it up!
Love your videos!
Don't take what I say to heart, I'm a douchefag.
off focus Fireworks never looks so sharp ...
How quickly our childhood is over, just like the fireworks, it passes in a flash.
It's a privilege to capture those moments.
Thanks fro sharing.

Now seriously, simple idea, fantastic result. Congrats.
I'm just dying to know... did you edit the film to an existing piece of music, or was this music created for the film? (update: in the comments, I see this is from "Solaris", but the question then is... did you start with the music and shoot the images for it, or, having those images did you find the music that best described the images?)
I'm just curious because it seems like music, carrying so much of the emotion, would be the best place to start.
Seriously, thanks, this is such a fine work of art.
To Answer your question: Before I set out to make a film, I have usually put aside 1 or 2 pieces of music which I think would compliment the imagery.
I have actually got another edit of this with a completely different style of soundtrack and I now actually prefer it!
let me know what you think.
Cheers.
Do you wanna be me friend?
:)
WIN
i never want to see fireworks any other way again.
nice work
I love the way the credits appear lit by the firework and then vanish in the dark again. Very cool!
I animated some music using bokeh. Check it out if you like. vimeo.com/27260752
