Recently we held our first semi-informal competitive barista challenge at the Roastery, the so-called Smackdown. This was in a more 'street' variety than the official WBC (World Barista Championship) – hence the wrestling-inspired title – a comp much in the style of London's UBF. We invited all Peoples baristas, cafes that supply Peoples Coffee, and skilled Wellington baristas in general.
