The 19th Colombian Moda fashion show has just wrapped up in the city of Medellin seeks to showcase the best of Colombian fashion and design in the textile industry. International buyers from 24 countries came looking for the latest trends in formal, casual and sportswear collections for women, men and children. Let's take a closer look.
STORY:
The 'Colombia Identity' show consisted of easy-flowing dress tunics - traditionally made in indigenous Colombian communities- in shades of beige and brown, contrasting with bright fuschia.
Designer Beatriz Camacho was happy with the result.
'Colombia Identity' show organizer Juan Pablo Correa, said the show intended to create links between the designers and craftsmen and women.
Colombian designer Amelia Toro's collection, "Fantasia Viva," focused on classic black dresses but also featured feminine items in transparent materials.
EA Lingerie showed futuristic black lingerie designs in satin and silk.
The Colombia Moda said that from January to April 2008 the Colombian clothes industry generated sales worth $879 million dollars.
