Wannabe 411-style contest section from the Arcadia (?) in Cork, June 1999.
Despite the fact that it was a shared contest with rollerblading (seriously pointless), it went off and everybody was feeling the hype, particularly as a massive contingent came over from the UK. That weekend was pretty much a comeback for Wayne Gallagher who'd been out of action for well over a year with a nasty spiral fracture of his fibula and tibula. He smashed it that weekend, what a champ.
Edited on some VHS tape to tape edit decks, linear style. I'd just got a miniDV camera, a Sony TRV 900 which could digitise analogue footage before capture via Premiere 4.1 or Final Cut 1.0. Still some time away before I got my hands on half decent editing equipment.
We still weren't filming "seriously" back then, still a case of putting the camera in the bag and going skating, sometimes it got used, sometimes not.
