Too often when reading the Bible we see only what we have been told to see; our conclusions are determined in large part by our cultural assumptions. Richard encourages us to look through the eyes of other people, especially those who are "last" or "marginalized" in the story. Their points of view can reveal new insights to over-familiar passages.
