My attempt to work with Radioheads House of Cards data they provided. (code.google.com/creative/radiohead/)
I put it into the Java based Sunflow renderer. Played with the data. Tried some effects. ...
Initially I wanted to transform the data into something completely different. Since its just numbers. But I had to learn that with all the noise every other interpretation of the coordinates becomes chaos.

I have messed with Sunflow. It is a long dusty road with a standard computer. This video could be good. I suggest you just find a way to rent some time on a render cluster.
