Raw unedited, junk footage, straight out of the camera, no colour correction or grading, just scaled down to 720p and fade in / out added.

  • Looks very nice. At a cost, but it's a very film-like. No shutter roll at all!

Cost wasn't too bad - £299 (UK) + £45 for the Nikon F mount so I can use my collection of Nikon lenses - all two of them :)

+ me being in the UK (SGPro is a UK company) shipping charges were negligible + no import duty / tax and handling charges.

I had a quick look at the sgpro earlier, and there is a bit of VAT on top of the price, you obviously had to pay that right? Or am i missing some awesome money saving scheme? haha

wow this looks really good! what lens did you use?
  • Tynan 1 year ago
I used a cheap Sigma 50mm f2.8 Macro DG - if you are using it on a lens adaptor make sure you get the version with the manual aperture control:

(I might be telling you stuff you already know !!!)

P.S - if you download the original Quicktime movie, you can actually see ants running about on that big square wall thing in the first shot ! Good sharp lens.

    Insectastic !!! :)

yeah I'm in the process of getting an sgpro rev3 with a nikon mount. And I just bought an old nikon AIs 50mm lens with the manual aperture, thanks for the warning! and i must say i'd have to disagree with this footage being called junk haha

The SGPro is great, very easy to set up very very solidly built.

Are you shooting with a HV20/30 by any chance ? If you are I found that extending the 'tube' means you don't get any vignetting . . .

Hi, i am looking to upgrade to the sgpro, but i see i have to pay nearly an extra £100 due to shipping and vat? I am in the UK also. You had to pay for this right? Seems a bit of a con when he advertises it for £299, but i went to check out and it came to £434 (with fd mount)
  • Tynan 1 year ago
Yeah, it's a bit silly - as if anyone would buy it without a mount !!??

And yes I had to pay the VAT and £30 shipping.

I went to checkout as an American and it worked out cheaper!? How does that make any sense considering SGpro is a UK company? Ach well, i guess i'm keeping my jag until i can buy one second hand

Still got my Jag too !!!! :)

Maybe I will sell you my SGPro (????) - I am planing to get the new Canon 5Dmk2 if I can save up enough over the next month.

My SG is pretty much brand new with the rails support system . . . but a Nikon mount, so you would have to get a FD mount (I think they are £50 - £60 ?)

    Anyhow . . . . . .

Putting it though as an American and it being cheaper makes no sense !?
