Hedgehogs are mainly nocturnal but on occasions can be seen during the day. Hibernation usually takes place between November and April, The hedgehog is the only British mammal to have spines.

    That's a coincidence, I haven't seen any hedgehog road kill this year.

    We had a regular visitor in 2008, but since the back-end of that year we've seen none. The badger is prolific round here though this year, as is Raynard.thanks to the recent liberation from the hunting scene.

    Nice footage and a great opportunity. I love Hedgehogs. The animal seems very relaxed and a lot better than with a flashlight in his/her face.
