First time sailing with my brothers on a Lido 14. We cruised around Channel Islands Harbor.

Shot with the HV20 and Raynox WA lens. Edited in Final Cut Pro, Motion, and MB.

looks like it was fun. what MBL preset did you use. or did you custom make one?
  • bigd1971 25 days ago
It was a blast, much more fun than I thought it would be.
I am just playing around with MB's presets right now. I think I used Epic and Pearl. Thanks Brian.

About time man. I've missed your stuff BigD. I like the colors in the harbor going out...not too sure what you call it what you did but I liked the look. Overall, great shots throughout, especially the camera over the side. You crazy!! And it does look like a blast.
LOL-on the out take at the end--think it was intentional? Who owns the sailboat?
  • bigd1971 25 days ago
Thanks Hoop, it feels good to be back. I was so frustrated with doing this edit though. It took me a while to figure out how Motion and FCP work together. It is actually quite simple and easy, but I lost a few hours work before figuring that out.
I don't think the other boat did that intentionally, it was just not very thoughtful. Our boat was quite small and at that point we were surrounded my much larger vessels. Kinda hairy, but fun.
    That boat belongs to Marcus.

That looked like a nice day out. I liked your close-ups of the technical bits on the boat.

Thanks Rico. It was a great day that I hope to be able to do more of in the near future. The close ups were some of my favorite shots as well.

It is dude, you gotta try it someday if you never have. Small boats like that are really fun for short little cruises.
