Weezer put on a hootenany on June 17, 2008 in Phoenix. What's a hootenany? At the time, I had no frickin clue. But my friend and fellow =w= addict, Kelly Wilson, used ninja skills to get us into to "play" with the band. Literally, I thought I was going to plug in and wail on the solo of Say It Ain't So or something.

Yeah, was I wrong.

I get there only to realize that in this crowd, I'm the king of the nerds. If this was a Star Wars preview, I would have been the Darth Vader look alike.

So there I am, in my Rivers Cuomo circa 1996 outfit and Buddy Holly glasses, hamming it up with 17 year olds who were 3...that's THREE...when Rivers first started having sweater problems. Wow. I'm old. So is he.

PS - If you didn't know, I was/am Rivers in a Weezer *tribute* band in Tempe Arizona called Budweezer. I know, cute name, right? After two years of rocking, we're on hiatus. myspace.com/budweezertime
